Members are invited to join a webinar by Tom Pemberton and Kieran Fano of Goodman Derrick’s specialist construction law team. An outline of the content is set out below.
- Coronavirus update: Presentation on the legal and contractual position of CECA members in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic and the measures taken by the government to control it. The webinar will consider the extent to which the easing of the lockdown restrictions announced by the Prime Minister on 10 May makes any change to members’ legal position, in circumstances where construction sites will continue to be subject to supply chain issues, and significant restrictions to mitigate the continuing risks to health presented by the pandemic.
- The webinar will consider the measures CECA members should take in order to comply with the legislation and guidance. It will also consider the question of who bears the cost of compliance, with consideration of the rights, remedies and reliefs available to CECA members under the standard form contracts in relation to the costs and delays resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and compliance with the Coronavirus legislation and guidance, including NEC3 and NEC4 ECC and ECS, the ICE/ICC forms, and the CECA “Blue Form” Sub-Contracts (including a snapshot of the new Generic Sub-Contract due to be published later this year).
There will be plenty of time for Q&A after the presentations. If you have any questions that you would like to ask in advance then please email them to James Caulfield.
If you are able to join the webinar, please register your interest here.
