We’re excited to share that we attended the 2023 Seawork Exhibition last week! It was a fantastic event showcasing our infrastructure sector to those operating in the marine sector and to pick up on the latest advancements in maritime technology and services. From innovative vessels to cutting-edge equipment being deployed to reduce carbon and toxin emissions. The exhibition was a hub of industry knowledge and networking opportunities. Congratulations go out to CECA member TMS who won the Marine Civils Best Project Award 2023 for their involvement in a project in Glasgow during 2021 – 2022. In addition during the three days CECA engaged with the Construction Minister, Nusrat Ghani and are looking for follow up opportunities; hosted the CECA Flood & Marine Group presentation and panel event around tidal power where industry experts discussed both the opportunity offered and the challenges associated with this truly sustainable source of renewable energy (see presentation); finishing the week with our CECA NextGen team supporting the skills outreach day for local school pupils. They did a great job of promoting our industry and encouraging the younger delegates working using a wave tank and reflections on their own journey’s and projects that they had been engaged with to unlock that interest.
Great to chat to the Construction Minister Ms Nusrat Ghani to talk about the challenges our SMEs face in addressing Zero Carbon after she had opened the exhibition earlier in the day. Seen here at the CECA stand with L-R Andrew Webster @Mercatormedia , Peter Crosland @CECA National , Ms Nusrat Ghani MP, David Allen @CECA Southern.
