Jenson Jenkins has been named the south west’s most promising apprentice at this year’s CECA South West Young Achiever Awards. Jenson works full-time with day release as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Department of Forest Traffic Services Ltd. He completed his Construction & The Built Environment Level 3 Diploma in June of this year and is now enrolled onto an HNC in Construction & The Built Environment, with an expected completion date of June 2024; Forest will then support Jenson by enrolling him onto a BSc (Hons) course in Quantity Surveying at university. He received the award for his outstanding work on a variety of projects over the last two years, including the commercial delivery on National Highways’ construction works and scheme delivery frameworks in the South West, as well as multiple sub-contract packages. He also assists the Group Commercial Manager on the multi-million pound A465 Heads of Valley scheme. Speaking at the presentation in Torquay, Phil Ramsden, Chair, CECA South West, said: “Congratulations to Jenson, who has made an exceptional start to his career and certainly has a bright future ahead of him in the industry.
The CECA South West Young Achiever Awards are presented annually in recognition of exceptional performance, with each winner receiving a trophy and cheque for £500.
