CECA structures its work in supporting members’ interests and priorities through our five core pillars. These pillars allow our members and partners to easily understand how we are supporting them and how we prioritise our work to create meaningful impactful outcomes.
The core pillars are:
- CLIENTS, POLICY & WORKLOAD – Creating Work Opportunities
CECA’s work under this pillar involves engaging with national & local government, clients, and other stakeholders, and our work on frameworks, procurement, legislative issues & policy development.
- HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING – Creating a Safer Workplace
CECA provides information, advice, and guidance to members on health & safety matters, as well as engaging in work with relevant industry bodies such as CONIAN, CONIAC, CIJC, and undertaking the development of the Working Rule Agreement. As part of this pillar CECA delivers the industry’s annual safety stand-down event ‘Stop. Make a Change‘ with particular focus on pressing industry matters such as diabetes in the workforce.
- SKILLS & TRAINING – Creating a Skilled Workforce
CECA undertakes work with members to ensure the industry’s skills base is sufficient to deliver the nation’s infrastructure. As part of this engagement we work with the Department for Education & Skills, CITB, the Construction Leadership Council, CSCS, the Plant Working Group, ifATE, and others, to develop a unified plan for infrastructure skills.
- CAREERS & RECRUITMENT – Creating a Talent Pipeline
CECA supports our members in their careers and recruitment strategies through engagement with relevant industry bodies, skills providers, CITB, ifATE, Go Construct, as well as through schools engagement and supporting professionals who are new to the industry in their career development through our CECA Foundations Groups.
- SUSTAINABILITY & SOCIAL VALUE – Creating a Better Environment for All
CECA provides information, advice, and guidance to members on sustainability and social value through policy development, working with industry partners including the Construction Leadership Council to support our members in the journey to delivering a net zero UK construction industry.
