A record member turnout was recorded at our Members’ Meeting on Wednesday 26th March at Sandy Park with approaching 80 people in the room.

Rob Richards, Deputy Director of Highways & Infrastructure Development and Ian James, Highways & Traffic Management Group Manager explained the potential impacts of devolution in the County (local government reorganisation) the arrangements for renewal of the highway maintenance framework and how the future work pipeline is looking in what is currently an uncertain Devon landscape. Gez Bonner, National Training Manager at L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage outlined L Lynch’s unique training programme as well as how and where they currently train contractor’ plant operators and their own employees. Gez shared L Lynch’s idea for a skills hub for plant operator training in the Exeter/Plymouth area. View Presentation Gez – CECA Slides

Phil Ramsden has come to the end of his extremely successful term as CECA South West Chair and he was wished a fond farewell (with couple of surprises!).

The election of the new CECA South West Chair and Vice Chair took place and we welcomed Abie Hearn, Head of Bid Quality at Ringway/SWH as our new Chair and Claire Coetzee, Civil Engineering Director at M J Church as Vice Chair.
