A phenomenal amount of £3,121.74 was raised for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity at the CECA Midlands Annual dinner and Awards in September 2022. To understand how this money can be spent and how we can further support this amazing charity, CECA Chair Ron Pinfield, CLM, Jonathan Walsh, Balfour Beatty along with Lisa Hollington and Lorraine Gregory from CECA Midlands visited the air base.
The charity operates three air ambulances and three critical care cars covering six midlands’ counties. Each year it costs in excess of £10 million to maintain the lifesaving service and the charity does NOT receive any funding from government or the National Lottery, therefore relying entirely on the support of local people and businesses.
The money raise by CECA Midlands Members provides the charity enough funding for 1 air mission or 10 critical missions. The importance of this service was evident during our visit as the helicopter was called out 3 times in just a two-hour period!
During the crews respite we were lucky enough to view the helicopter up close and talk to the crew about the vital work they do- saving lives.
It was a privilege to be able to hear about the work they undertake, but the service wanted to extend their thanks to all CECA Midlands members for their generosity.
If you or your company would like to engage further with the charity and continue to support their work, please do contact Jon Cotterill who would be more than happy to discuss this with you.
